On Saturday, August 25th, 2001, Southern Comfort held a celebrity guest chat with Rogue mini-series writer, Fiona Avery. Fiona was a wonderful guest and stayed a couple of hours, chatting with the members, answering questions about the new mini and about her career, motivations and inspirations.

Fiona started out by quoting us some of the statements she's made (such as to X-Fan) regarding the limitations Marvel gave her with regard to the Rogue mini-series. She's seen some mixed feedback from various sources regarding this and stated to X-Fan, as she did to us, that these were factors that kept her working on the Rogue books within some tight parameters. Fiona did a great job meeting that challenge.

Fiona has an easy-going style that made chatting with her a pleasure. SCers had so much to talk about with Fiona and we all had such a great time that we invited her to join us for a chat on each weekend following the release of each subsequent issue of the Rogue mini-series and she agreed. We'll look forward to chatting with Fiona again following the September 26th release of Rogue #2. We will likely be chatting with Fiona the following Saturday as we did following Rogue #1, but will need to work out final details. Watch for more info, coming soon.

Meanwhile, if you were one of the members of Southern Comfort who couldn't make it to the chat on August 25th or if you're a visitor to Southern Comfort's site and are just interested in what she had to say to us, we welcome you to read a transcript of the chat.

If you are a member of SC and you wish to link the chat on your own personal web site, please feel free. If you're not a member and wish to link, please contact the club's president, Bobbi Gorden.

If you wish to quote Ms. Avery in any document or publication, please contact her directly for permission.
